Overview

Gastroenterology and Hepatology Center, Kasemrad Prachacheun Hospital, understands the importance of the diagnosis, treatment, and screening for abnormalities of Gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders by physicians specialized in gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders with Advance technology devices, as gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders are increasing becoming major problems in Thai people

Currently, there is increasing in number of risk factors for gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders, both physical factors e.g. food, air, lifestyle, and genetic factors. These are becoming a significant problem to people’s living. Therefore, the hospital is determined to provide a quality service for diagnosis and treatment by specialized physicians in gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders, and Advance technology devices with international standard for the diseases.

Service

1. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) provides diagnosis and treatment for gallbladder disorders e.g gallbladder cancer, bile duct obstruction.

2. GI Endoscopy provides diagnosis and treatment for gastrointestinal disorders.
• Gastroscopy provides images in esophagus, stomach and upper intestine to detect for movement and abnormalities. It also examines Helicobacter Pylori in stomach.
• Colonoscopy provides images in colon to detect abnormalities in colon lining and tissues, intestinal and upper colon movement, or the connecting part of colon and small intestine.
• Examination of sigmoid colon (Sigmoidoscopy)
•Removing polyps in the gastrointestinal tract (Polypectomy)
•Insertion of feeding tube by endoscopic procedure without surgery or anesthesia (PEG:Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy)
•Treatment for esophageal varices

3. Diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders by capsule (Gastrointestinal Wireless Capsule Endoscopy) is a novel procedure to diagnose gastrointestinal disorders especially in the deepest part of small intestine by swallowing a capsule which captures images in gastrointestinal tract. The physician then takes the images for interpretation and determines treatment for the patients swiftly and precisely in accordance with the origin of pathology.

4. Liver Biopsy is taking the tissue from liver to examine when there’s tumor suspected to be cancer or hepatitis.

5. Non-surgical treatment e.g. Stopping acute gastrointestinal or hepatic bleeding.

6. Surgical treatment for gastrointestinal disorders e.g. liver surgery,bile duct surgery, gallbladder surgery, esophageal surgery, stomach, small intestine, and colon surgery.
